Kelly Towles: Light the Way

light-the-way-headerKelly Towles produces very unique art through many different medias. These medias range from small canvasses, to televisions (on the glass), walls (giant murals) and even inflatables. Now of course, thats only four different medias but he is far more talented than that as he is not limited to those four but instead he is capable of producing artwork on basically any media he is given. He has a set of signature character designs that makes most of his characters look similar but at the same time each and every one of them is completely unique. His art installations have taken place in Hawaii, New York and Washington D.C., where he lives. Most of his collaborations and installations take place near his home at local breweries and artist centers and shops that love art. He also gets commissioned for local shows in nearby states like the Sweetlife Festival in Maryland. These shows need an artistic eye that will make the entire festival more engaging and definitely pleasing to the eye. Many of the local pieces in D.C. are murals which are loved by the majority of the artist community nearby. We truly love someone with absolutely fresh ideas willing to challenge our abilities to bring them to life. Most of the inflatables we manufacture are not normally internally lit but the few that are look incredible in night scenes with public spaces like this labyrinth we made for Kelly. They can also be any size and be internally lit. Now why is this important? Well because we create a baffling system that directs the airflow within the inflatable so that it doesn't pop, over-inflate, or loose its shape. Why does any of this matter? Well, because these baffles would block the amount of light going from the inflatable's innards outward and so we have to design the system within the inflatable to still do its job but completely go around the internals of the inflatable. Many of these large projects are usually lit from outside but you would need a lot more lights all around the inflatables but it is not easy to setup because they can be so big. The beauty about internally lit inflatables is that there are no crazy amounts of cables running everywhere for multiple lights because you only need one.

From concept to manufacturing the projects we deal with are all babied. We care for every single project because we know them all to be important to us but even more important to those who will be using them. Inflatables developed from small ideas become extremely big ideas when we finish them because sometimes they end up being really large (basically any size that is not going to be impossible to make). They are all printed on our state-of-the-art printers and then we make the rest by hand to have the greatest amount of human quality control as possible. We manufacture all sorts of promotional products that work great for outdoor applications while attracting anyone who passes by these products.

All of the inflatables we work on are incredibly detailed and since they are made with great materials we know that they will last for a very long time. We were very happy to work with Kelly Towles on this inflatable and we were also grateful because he returned for a second time seeking our services in great inflatable craftsmanship. We would be more than happy to work with him in the future to continue developing interesting art installations through inflatables.
